    Optima are a specialist provider of Occupational Health and Wellbeing services. Our clients often require a tailored and holistic approach to meet their specific organisational needs. We are not an ‘off the shelf’ provider with a ‘one hat fits all’ solution. It is our preference to work with our clients to clearly understand their requirements, often resulting in a fully integrated and multidisciplinary Occupational Health solution.

    Working closely with our client’s Management, Human Resource and Safety teams, Optima bring our own expertise gathered through 25 years of delivering Occupational Health and Wellbeing services. We can further enhance our approach by combining with our trusted, sector leading experts in the fields of musculoskeletal and psychological rehabilitation. Taking position as the lead service partner, Optima provide a single point of contact for managers and a consolidated Management Information system, ensuring seamless service delivery for our clients.

    A recent example saw Optima establish an integrated Occupational Health and Rehabilitation service for a large Utilities organisation, taking responsibility for their supply chain in the process. Our work delivered both financial and efficiency savings for the client, but more importantly created an Occupational Health and Wellbeing service that is considered by many as the benchmark in the sector. The HR team have since reported that they feel advice and decisions can now be implemented consistently across the business, whilst referring managers feel that the entire Occupational Health and Wellbeing service is providing a seamless delivery.

  • Health Surveillance

    Optima operate one of the largest mobile screening and health surveillance fleets in the UK. Managed by our logistic and clinical experts, we carry out over 120,000 medical assessments per year. For clients with a geographically dispersed workforce with no fixed medical facilities, our mobile screening units can travel anywhere in the UK and ROI. We simply ‘plug in’ to a local power source and stay for as long as necessary to deliver the required assessments.

    Recently one of our large construction based clients had an urgent requirement for a significant number of health surveillance assessments to be performed within a limited time frame. Our experienced team of schedulers, working hand in hand with our client, arranged for 11 of our Health Technicians to travel to the client’s site. Using our Technicians and mobile screening units, we conducted over 60 (one hour) comprehensive health surveillance assessments in a single day. In doing so we delivered significant monetary and efficiency savings for the client.

  • First Generation Outsourcing

    Optima have been involved in a number of successful first-generation Occupational Health outsourcing projects. A notable recent example is that of a Blue Light client for whom we deliver an Occupational Health and Wellbeing provision to 30,000 employees across the length and breadth of Scotland.

    The transition of this service involved the bringing together of eight legacy Occupational Health departments, some outsourced, some in-house, but each with their own way of doing things, to form one, singular service and delivery platform. This complex implementation and change programme was a success, delivered on schedule and to budget. The client was highly satisfied with our management of the transition and we have continued to exceed their expectations, delivering further innovations and service enhancements throughout the course of the contract.

  • TUPE

    Optima’s approach to TUPE is built on clarity and the fair treatment of staff. A smooth and continued provision of services to clients, during and after transition, is at the centre of our process. In our experience, if the basics are right, and transparency exists throughout all aspects of our dealings with transferring staff, then subsequent issues tend to be minor and easily dealt with.

    We adopt a partnership approach to contract management right from contract award and continued throughout the contract term. Implementation, and in particular TUPE, is best delivered when through a partnership and consultative approach. Planning and preparing for TUPE transfer is crucial to the success of migrating staff and also for ensuring a smooth commencement to the new contract term.

    Our approach to TUPE is second to none in the sector, having achieved 100% satisfaction following TUPE transfer into our business.
