Role Summary

To help develop and manage the wellbeing programmes.  A particular focus of the role is to work with employees to improve their knowledge of and confidence in a range of wellbeing programmes and supporting them in embedding behaviour and lifestyle changes.

This role will be focusing on one of our key utility clients to begin within the south East area. Extensive and frequent travel will be required between multiple sites across the London area, and possibly other areas of the UK when required. Overnight stays may also be a requirement of this role.

The role will initially start as a full time Health Coach position but will then drop down to be a shared role of Health Coach and health screening duties at the beginning of 2020. The role is subject to change in line with the client’s requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to the Wellbeing Strategy for the client and support the current lead Health Coach with their activities and administration.
Provide advice on health and wellbeing, and behaviour change programmes to enhance the health of the workforce, problem solving to devise workable solutions to Occupational Health issues identified, whilst ensuring Optima Health Clinical Governance is complied with at all times.
Carry out health screening tests.
Dispose of all waste - clinical and sharps in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
Consistently apply standard procedures for completion of clinical notes, data protection, handling of medical records and acquiring consent for all investigations.
Work in partnership with stakeholders, assist with delivering service in line with KPI’s and identify and contribute to health education campaigns.
Makes well-informed decisions, produces presentations and reports that are timely, meaningful, and evidence based
Contributes fully to the team effort and plays an integral part in the smooth running of team without necessarily taking the lead

Experience, skills and knowledge required for the role

Essential

Qualification in Nursing or a diploma in a related subject e.g. medical /sports /nutritional science
Extensive experience of screening / Consultation
Excellent communication skills, assessment, listening, written and verbal
Experience in delivering health promotion events and undertaking engaging presentations to small group
Knowledge of clinical governance structures
Able to retain personal responsibility whilst working in a wider team
Desirable

Qualification to HND/degree level in a health-related subject

Previous experience working within occupational health, preferably for a provider, working autonomously but to centrally governed standards.
