We’d like to take this opportunity to update you on an important change in our senior clinical leadership at Optima Health. We are delighted to have attracted Chief Medical Officer Dr Rikard Moen and look forward to welcoming him to the Optima team.
Dr Rikard Moen will join Optima Health in September 2019 and his focus will be to lead clinical excellence across the company, building on the foundations set up by Dr Lucy Wright.
Dr Moen is a Consultant Occupational Health Physician with 20 years of extensive experience in corporate occupational health, both in the UK and overseas. Rikard joins Optima from his role as the Chief Medical Officer for Transport for London - supporting over 27,500 staff across multiple services.
Rikard’s medical career began as a surgeon. Eager to pursue a career in Occupational Medicine, he continued studies to gain his MSc in Occupational Health, as well as MFOM and FFOM award.
He has wide experience in supporting Global Public Health teams, major projects and with delivering corporate health services for international organisations operating in remote, challenging or hostile regions around the world. While providing his expertise to the Middle East’s oil sector, he established the Qatar Occupational Medicine Group. Rikard is Chairman of the Society of Occupational Medicine International group and Vice-Chairman of the Faculty of Remote & Rural Healthcare, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He is also an active committee member of the International Occupational Medicine Societies Collaborative.
Fast forward a number of years, Rikard joins Optima Health as Chief Medical Officer with an impressive track record in many sectors, in particular oil, gas, rail and transport.

In order to support her family, Dr Lucy Wright has decided that she will be stepping down from her role at Optima Health at the end of 2019. Optima Health would like to take this early opportunity to thank Lucy for everything she has done for the business over the years and wish her every success for the future.
